About Us
Founded in the summer of 2011, the Cambridge University Digital Gaming Society is the University's largest student society for competitive and casual video gaming, and the hub for gaming and esports in Cambridge. Everyone is welcome, whatever and however you play.
Esports & Varsity
We field competitive teams in Counter-Strike 2, League of Legends, Overwatch 2, Valorant and Marvel Rivals, competing nationally in leagues including National Student Esports (NSE), partnered with BUCS, and NUEL. Every year we take on the University of Oxford in person at the Oxbridge Esports Varsity, at venues such as the Red Bull Gaming Sphere, the Insomnia Gaming Festival and Jesus College, Oxford.
Casual gaming
Community game nights for every student, with Mario Kart, Jackbox, Among Us and plenty more. No experience or rank required.
Socials
In-person socials throughout the year: LAN parties, pub quizzes, themed charity events, formal halls, a Christmas dinner and Nintendo Day.
Working with other societies
We team up with other Cambridge societies on events, including the rhythm games society, PokeSoc (the Pokémon society) and Cambridge Battlecode.
